Different stage and changes in life.
The physical development of children is one of the important components of health.
- The beginning of development
- Infancy/childhood
- Adolescence
- Adulthood
- Old age
- Natural, normal and healthy changes take place in our body with increasing age. This is an essential part of every human growth and development can be extremely interesting to experience these opportunities as well as to teach and learn more about them.
- Not all changes happen at once. As a result it is possible that physical changes may occur sooner, but psycho-social (psychosocial) changes occur later in the same person. It can be affected in other ways as well. Maturity in two children of the same age, experiences at different speed can have different levels.
- Sometimes we can influence changes
in our lives and other times we have less control over them.
- Some changes in our lives are
predictable. If we are prepared for them, we may be able to influence some of
these processes and manage them better. Growth and maturation, for example, is
an ongoing process.
- Sometimes children feel stressed if
they look different from their peers. They may mature faster or slower than
others and this difference can be a source of irritation and ridicule among
peers.
There are many prejudices and harmful practices/attitudes associated with the process of physical development that need to be discussed.
