What is
health? What does it mean when we say holistic health? When most people are
asked what do they usually answer? Some participants are asked to present their
views. He introduces after listening to people that health is not only free
from diseases, but also influence each other by mentioning the state of
physical, social, emotional and mental well-being.
Physical health
Physical health is the only aspect of perfect health.
It is a state of
being free from disease and injury. Understanding physical health requires
awareness about physical fitness and healthy eating habits.
v Social health
Social health includes the ability to communicate well with another
person for personal satisfaction, to maintain a good environment and personal
relationship with team.
v Emotional health
Emotional health that has the ability to control and manage emotions and
make it feel relaxed. A person can be emotionally healthy only when he
expresses his feelings well.
v Mental health and well-being
A state of mental health and well-being in which a person realizes his
or her abilities, copes with the general stresses of life, as well as works
well and is able to contribute to his or her community. Mental health can
affect daily life and relationship. Physical health can also be affected by how
a person think or feels. Mental health involves achieving a balance between
life’s activities and efforts to achieve mental state-establishment with one’s
ability to enjoy life.
Distress includes fear guilt, panic and shame, helplessness, doubt,
self-confusion, loneliness, sadness and anger. This is the stage where the
person may face a challenge or stress or find a solution and become positive or
may need help.
